Getting started
How many pods do I need, and what does each one unlock?
One pod gives steps per minute. Two shin pods add landing, ground contact and left vs right. A pelvis pod adds bounce, thigh pods add knee angles.
More pods let the app see more of how you move. Each pod adds a part of the picture.
What each set of pods unlocks (running)
| Pods | What you see |
|---|---|
| 1 pod anywhere | Steps per minute (an estimate) |
| 2 shin pods | Time on the ground, where your foot lands, heel lift in the swing (estimate), landing impact, left vs right, form over the run |
| + pelvis pod | Bounce, hip drop (estimate), braking (rough) |
| + 2 thigh pods | Knee bend at landing, knee bend absorbing the landing, heel lift, push-off, knee drive |
| + 2 foot pods | Foot angle at landing and a steadier ground-contact time |
Angles (where your foot lands, knee bend, push-off) also need you to stand still for 3 seconds at the start.
Our suggestion
- 3 pods: pelvis + both shins. The best value. It answers "is my landing and bounce OK?" and shows left vs right. This is the setup the app recommends for every activity.
- 5 pods: add both thighs. Adds the knee and hip story.
- 7 pods: add both feet. The full lower-body picture.
Dance
For dance, the app suggests pelvis + both shins, plus wrists if you have them. Dance analysis is coming soon. For now, dance recordings are saved so they can be analysed later. See Recording dance.
Don't have enough pods yet?
Each activity shows an Unlock more card that lists what more pods would add. Locked findings say which pods they need, for example "Add pods on both shins to see where your feet land." See Why is a finding locked or waiting for more data?
