Getting started
What do I need to use ReadMyMove?
One or more pods with straps, a USB-C cable, and Chrome or Edge on a computer or Android phone. On iPhone, use the free Bluefy app.
You need pods, straps, a USB-C cable to charge them, and a device whose browser can talk to Bluetooth pods.
Hardware
- Pods. Small motion sensors (about 36 × 23 × 13 mm) with a built-in rechargeable battery. Every pod is the same, so any pod can go anywhere on the body.
- Straps. 25 mm elastic straps. Every strap fits every pod.
- A USB-C cable and a USB charger or computer port to charge the pods.
A phone or computer
The web app runs at app.readmymove.com and connects to the pods with Web Bluetooth.
| Device | What to use |
|---|---|
| Windows, macOS or ChromeOS computer | Chrome or Edge |
| Android phone or tablet | Chrome or Edge |
| iPhone or iPad | The free Bluefy app (Safari can't connect to pods) |
| Linux | Chrome, which may need an extra setting |
Firefox and Safari can't connect to pods. See Which browsers work?
Your device needs Bluetooth turned on. For running, a phone in a belt or armband is the easiest. A laptop works for treadmill or indoor sessions as long as it stays within a few metres.
An account
Create a free account in the app with your email and a password. Your activities are saved on your device first and then synced to your account. You can explore the demo without an account, but you can't record.
No pods yet?
You can try recording with the phone itself as a sensor at your lower back. See Use your phone as a sensor.
Not needed
- No watch, chest strap or GPS. Speed and pace are not measured yet.
- No app store download on Android or a computer.
