Product stage
Can I buy ReadMyMove today?
Not yet. ReadMyMove is a working prototype that we are testing. You can join the waitlist now. We will email you before pre-orders open, with the price, any deposit and the refund terms. Joining costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
When will it ship?
We don't have a ship date yet, and we would rather not guess. Waitlist members hear first, and we will share a realistic timeline once testing and manufacturing are planned.
Will the design change before launch?
Probably. The pods are 3D-printed prototypes today. Their size, the straps and the battery may all change as we test. We will show the final design before anyone pays.
Pods, straps and fit
What exactly is a pod?
A pod is a small case that holds a motion sensor (a 6-axis IMU: an accelerometer plus a gyroscope), a Bluetooth radio and a rechargeable battery. Every pod is the same, so any pod can go anywhere on your body.
How do the pods attach?
With stretchy elastic straps. The chest, waist, thigh, calf/ankle and arm/wrist straps all share one standard mount, so every pod fits every strap. Nothing is sewn into clothing, and you can wear the straps with any outfit.
How many pods do I need?
One pod already gives you rhythm and cadence from your centre of mass. Three pods (waist + both lower legs) show left and right steps. Five or more cover the whole lower body or add your arms. You can add pods and straps later.
How long does the battery last?
We are still measuring it. Our target is at least 3 hours of continuous recording per charge. We will publish measured numbers before pre-orders open.
Is it waterproof or sweat-proof?
The prototype cases are not rated for water. Sweat resistance is a design requirement for the production version, and we will state an official rating only once it has been tested.
App and data
What do I need to use it?
A device with Bluetooth and a browser that supports Web Bluetooth, such as Chrome on a laptop or Android phone. The web app runs at app.readmymove.com. Native iOS and Android apps are planned.
What does it measure today?
Today it shows live motion recording, motion traces and charts for each session, plus cadence and step analysis. Ground contact time, left/right asymmetry, joint angles, activity and dance-style recognition, and beat/timing feedback are on the roadmap. We label them that way until they work and have been checked.
Where is my data stored?
In today's web app, your recordings are stored locally in your own browser. If we add cloud sync, it will be opt-in. You will be able to export and delete your data, and we will explain it in plain words in our privacy policy.
Accuracy and safety
Is ReadMyMove a medical device?
No. ReadMyMove is a sports and movement tool. It does not diagnose, treat or predict injuries or any medical condition. If you have pain or an injury, please see a qualified professional.
How accurate is it?
We don't publish accuracy numbers yet, because we haven't validated them. Every metric is an estimate until we have compared it against reference measurements, such as video and lab equipment. We will publish the results, including the limits.
Can it reconstruct my full 3D movement?
Not today. Small motion sensors on straps can estimate a lot, but they have limits. For example, they cannot measure ground reaction forces or give an exact 3D picture of the foot and ankle. We will be clear about what each metric can and cannot tell you.
Coaches and labs
Can a coach use one kit with many athletes?
That is exactly how we picture the Pro / Coach and Lab kits: one set of pods, many athletes, and straps that adjust to each person. Multi-athlete features in the app are on the roadmap.
Do you work with sport labs and research teams?
We would love to, especially on validation studies. Join the waitlist and choose "I'm a coach / sport lab" in the form, and we will get in touch.
