Getting started
Where and how to wear the pods
Thread the strap under the pod, wear it on the outer side of the limb and always point the arrow up, toward your head.
Wear every pod with the arrow on the lid pointing up, toward your head. The strap should be snug enough that the pod can't bounce or turn, but not so tight that it is uncomfortable.
Thread the strap
- Hold the pod with the lid (the side with the arrow) facing out.
- From outside, take the strap over the first bar and down through the first slot.
- Run it under the back of the pod.
- Bring it up through the second slot and over the second bar.
The strap runs across the pod, so the arrow always lies along your limb.
Where each pod goes
| Placement (as the app lists it) | Where | Arrow |
|---|---|---|
| Pelvis (sacrum) | Centre of your lower back | Up, toward your head |
| Left shank / Right shank | Outer side of the shin, upper third, off the bone | Up, toward the knee |
| Left thigh / Right thigh | Outer side, mid-thigh, about a hand above the knee | Up, toward the hip |
| Left wrist / Right wrist | Back of the forearm, just above the wrist | Up, toward the elbow |
| Chest | On the breastbone | Up, toward your head |
"Shank" is the app's word for your shin.
Tell the app which pod is where
In My pods or in the Pods step of recording, set Where you wear it for each pod. Not sure which pod is which? Tap Identify (blink), or shake a connected pod hard for 2 seconds. See Which pod is which?
Tips for good data
- Put the pods on the same spots each time, so your sessions compare well.
- Tighten straps before you start. A pod that slips changes the angles.
- Stand still for 3 seconds at the start of each recording. See Why stand still at the start?
- A pod worn upside down still records, but keeping the arrow up makes your sessions comparable.
- Check your skin after long sessions, especially at the lower back and shins.
