Connecting

My pod disconnected during a session

The app keeps recording and tries to reconnect on its own for about 10 seconds. Bring the phone closer. If it doesn't come back, tap Connect.

Bluetooth connections sometimes drop, for example when your body is between the pod and the phone. The app handles this for you.

During a recording

If a pod drops, you see a message like: "…lost connection. We keep recording and reconnect on our own — bring the phone closer if it doesn't come back."

  • The recording keeps going with the other pods.
  • The app tries to reconnect the pod 10 times, 1 second apart.
  • If it comes back, its data continues in the same recording. The gap is marked in the data-quality table.
  • If it doesn't come back, tap Connect on that pod. Your browser may ask you to pick it from the list again.

Fewer dropouts

  • Carry the phone on your body, for example in a running belt at the waist or an armband. Keep it close to the pods.
  • Don't leave the phone on the side of a track or treadmill more than a few metres away.
  • Keep the pods charged. A nearly empty battery drops more.
  • Close other apps and tabs that use Bluetooth.

After a reload

Reloading or closing the browser tab drops all pod connections. The app warns you before you leave. Moving between screens inside the app is fine: pods stay connected.

After a reload, open My pods and tap Connect on each pod. The browser shows only that pod's name in the list, so it takes one tap each. Automatic reconnect without a tap is not possible in browsers today.

Was my data affected?

Open the activity and go to the Data tab. The data-quality table shows each pod as Excellent, Acceptable or High loss, with the % of data lost. Findings from a pod with big gaps get a lower confidence. See Signal quality.
