What it is

Trunk lean is the average forward angle of your upper body during running strides, in degrees, compared with your standing posture.

How we measure it

A pod on the chest (on the breastbone) tracks its tilt 100 times a second. Shin or foot pods mark each stride. Stand still for 3 seconds at the start; without it, this number is hidden.

Typical range

There is no band. It is a detail number and is not used for advice yet. A small forward lean is common; it grows when running uphill or accelerating.

How sure we are

Low. Read it as an estimate and compare it only with your own runs. See how confidence works.

What you can try

Nothing to change on its own. Some coaches use the cue "lean from the ankles" with a falling-start drill: stand tall, lean forward as one piece until you have to step, then run 10 m.

Good to know

A chest pod is not part of the standard running setup. See how many pods you need.
