Running Form score
A 0 to 100 summary of the running findings we could measure, with sub-scores for landing, leg swing, stability and symmetry.
- Pods needed
- At least two measured findings (more pods give a fuller score)
- Usual confidence
- Medium what this means
What it is
One number from 0 to 100 that sums up the running findings of a session. Four sub-scores sit under it:
- Landing: where your foot lands, knee bend at landing, knee absorbing the landing
- Leg swing: heel lift, push-off, steps per minute, time on the ground
- Stability: hip drop, bounce, form over the run
- Symmetry: left vs right
How we measure it
Each finding scores 100 inside its good range, 60 at the edge of "watch" and lower further out. Findings that only go up to "watch" never drop below 55. Findings with lower confidence count less, and estimates count half. Foot strike is not scored.
Typical range
| Label | Score |
|---|---|
| Excellent | 85 or more |
| Good | 70 to 84 |
| Fair | 55 to 69 |
| Needs work | below 55 |
With fewer than two reliable findings you see "Not enough data" instead of a score.
How sure we are
The score is only as good as the findings behind it. More pods and the 3-second stand-still make it fuller. See how confidence works.
What you can try
Don't chase the score. Follow the one focus the app gives you for the next run, then retest.
Good to know
Scores from different kits are not directly comparable: a 3-pod score covers fewer findings than a 5-pod score. See how many pods you need.
