Hip extension at push-off
The angle between your thigh and your pelvis when your foot leaves the ground.
- Pods needed
- A thigh pod plus a pelvis pod
- Usual confidence
- Low what this means
What it is
This is the hip angle at push-off: how far the thigh is behind the line of your pelvis, in degrees. It is the more complete version of push-off, because it also takes the tilt of your pelvis into account.
How we measure it
We combine a thigh pod and a pelvis pod (centre of the lower back). Hip angle = thigh angle minus pelvis angle, both against your standing pose. Stand still for 3 seconds at the start; without it, this number is hidden.
Typical range
There is no band yet. It is a detail number and is not used for advice. The app uses push-off for that, because it is more reliable.
How sure we are
Low. Studies find a typical difference of 5–8° between motion sensors and lab cameras for the hip, and we find the forward direction of the pelvis from the movement itself, which adds uncertainty. Read it as an estimate. See how confidence works.

Good to know
Your own trend on similar runs means more than one value.
